Jarvis is Introduced:
In the stillness of her bedroom, in the private chambers of the Rectory of the Cross of Our Savior Baptist Church, Alicia Cook sleeps beneath a down comforter, the pattern on its duvet tiny red roses. Turned on her side, her head resting deep in soft pillows, she clutches to her breast the warm, soothing body of her love, a thirty-pound, cocker-dachsund cross she calls Jarvis, who, in rhythm to her own breath, snores.
And so it was that Jarvis is introduced to the reader in DESTINY'S DAMNED.
Alicia Cook is the wife of Peter, a Baptist minister. It is a troubled relationship in which she is physically abandoned.
Peter has chosen not to sleep with her but in a bed of his own in the room next door. His love for God and the purity he expected from himself becoming more important to Peter than she is, he has decided, for both their souls, to abandon all coitus, and became celibate to be closer to his Savior.
His abandoning her difficult at first, her physical attachment to him part of the whole of her love for him, an addiction painful to break, she has ultimately become resigned and fills her loneliness with Jarvis.
Together through the Destiny's Damned Trilogy, she and Jarvis are hunted by the reincarnating serial killer and the powers of evil that control him.
